Dendrophyllia (WYSIWYG)

Dendrophyllia is a genus of stony corals known as "Sun Corals." These corals are characterized by their dendritic (branching) growth form and small, non-photosynthetic polyps. Unlike many other corals, Dendrophyllia corals do not have zooxanthellae, which are symbiotic algae that contribute to the coral's nutrition through photosynthesis. Instead, they rely on capturing small prey, such as zooplankton, using their stinging cells. Dendrophyllia corals are often kept in aquariums, and they require regular feeding to thrive.
